Privacy Policy
The privacy of your personal information is of the utmost importance to Wishes and Rainbows. Any information submitted to Wishes and Rainbows will be kept strictly confidential, and will only be used in ways necessary to achieve requested assistance. Unless we have your express consent, Wishes and Rainbows will not share your personal information with any third party.
This policy explains our information practices and the choices you can make about the way we obtain and use your information. This Privacy Policy applies to information you provide to us through your application and correspondence.
How your information is used
Wishes and Rainbows will use your personal information to respond to your requests for information and/or assistance. Unless we have your express consent, your personal information will be used or shared only to fulfill your request. Your request for assistance is made through an application. All or part of your information is provided to the officers of Wishes and Rainbows for determination of eligibility and appropriate assistance to be provided. When reviewing your application you may be given the option of submitting further information that may be beneficial to your case.
In the event that we feel a third party or other organization may be able to help with your request, you will be contacted and required to sign a Release of Information form that will be retained on file with your original application.
Technical information
When reviewing applications, Wishes and Rainbows may elect to use technical information, which does not identify a specific individual. This information (sometimes referred to as "non-personally identifiable information") may include your particular medical or financial situation, or the assistance we were able to provide. This technical data is used for grant applications, and to update previous and potential sponsors as to the use of donations received.
Is my personal information shared?
Unless we have your express consent, Wishes and Rainbows will NOT share your personal information with any third party.
We may be required to provide personal information in response to a valid court order, subpoena, government investigation, or other legal inquiries. Unless prevented by law, we will notify you prior to the release of such information. We reserve the right to report to law enforcement personal information, should we feel this release is necessary to protect the rights of others and ourselves.
Accessing/Updating my information
Wishes and Rainbows wants your information to be accurate and up-to-date. If you would like to view what is in your file, or update your information, you may contact us with your request in writing, or by e-mail, and a copy of your file will be forwarded to you.
How long will my information be active?
We believe it is important, for privacy and security, to delete or destroy information when it is no longer needed. Unless you are under consideration for assistance, have updated your information, or reasons we may feel necessary to retain your application, your file will be deleted or destroyed 3 months after receipt. Therefore, it is extremely important you keep us updated on your situation if assistance need is on going.
You may request to have any personal information you have submitted to Wishes and Rainbows be deleted or destroyed. You may contact us by mail, e-mail or phone of such a request. Steps will be taken immediately to have said information deleted from your file.
