Volunteer Programs
Please consider these fundraisers and ideas to help Wishes and Rainbows help others! But, the list doesn't stop here --- Paula has many, many more ideas, so don't hesitate to contact her for other ideas.
Financial Sponsoring
If you would like to help make a difference for others less fortunate, please see "Contact Information", bottom of page.
Along with monetary donations, we are also in need of phone cards, grocery and gift cards, gas cards, and meal coupons such as McDonalds, Burger King, and Applebee's (these will need to be used nationwide).
Become a Contact Person
We need persons nationwide as contact people who would be willing and able to run errands, make phone calls, make deliveries or as phone contacts for persons in your area that may just need a friend to talk to. You let us know what you are willing and able to do.
Operation Rainbow Fundraiser
I have printed and cut rainbows on card stock --- like the shoes,
shamrocks, etc. you see hanging in the windows of stores. For each $1 donation, 25 cents can go directly to ASAP (American Syringomyelia Alliance Project). If you would like this portion of your donations to go directly to ASAP, please send a note along with your donations to Wishes and Rainbows stating this.
You get, in our case, one rainbow per $1.00 donation.
You can collect donations in several ways:
1) Take some for yourself, to collect donations from your family and friends.
2) Set up a table in front of a local store or business, and
for each $1 donation received give the rainbows directly to the people, requesting they hang them in their windows.
3) You can take them to your local stores and businesses, and request they give a $1 donation per rainbow, and hang them in their windows. They can also be taken to places of employment (provided it's permitted), as donations can be accepted from fellow employees.
This will be a really simple fundraiser. Just e-mail me, or call, and let me know how many "rainbows" you would like sent to you, along with your name and address.~Grammy
~Grammy Arby's
Sponsors a "Charity Night"
You can call your local Arby's and ask about the program.
They will donate 10% of their sales for the night you set up.
All you would need to do is print out a few posters to distribute throughout town, letting people know the night designated as Charity Night.

Wal-Mart
You can set up a day at Wal-Mart to collect donations. They will match UP TO $500.00 on what you collect.
This can be done in many ways.......
- Setting up a table, and just collect donations for Wishes and Rainbows
- Car Wash
- Tickets for a drawing
- Bake Sale
... or use your imagination.
Contact the manager at your local Wal-Mart for details and their regulations.
